Once had a go at graphic design, ended up writing about dentistry. Someone had to.

Georg Baselitz at the Cini Foundation. His final works having died just a couple of weeks ago. I found this an incredibly moving exhibition, full of intimations of death but also oddly uplifting. I rarely understand my reactions to art, but this nearly brought me to tears.

Great stuff. Saul Bass gave a lecture at my college that was transformational for many of us graphic design students.

If modern technology is so wonderful, why is OpenReach spending 10 days digging up the road outside? Can’t they just beam things in by satellite or microwave or something by now? (Yes. It’s day one of drilling and had enough already.)

Just the one additional sheet to highlight on SABRE Maps this
#MapMonday
- the 1935 Ordnance Survey Half Inch
#Map
of Greater London. Taking in a lot more than the modern definition of Greater London, it includes lots of places that look very, very different today...

at the Half Inch scale from 1936-37. Our favourite is definitely the Peak District district map, featuring those well-known Peak District places like Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham and North Florida...

I've just been screened for prostate cancer. I have no symptoms, but 1 in 8 men will get it and it's curable before it spreads. The NHS doesn't do screening. But CHAPS does and could save your life. All middle aged men should go. I was in and out in 5 minutes It could save your life
