Imagine if we’d bought a striker in January. We’d be feeling that we’re in this title race.

An 18 year old English superstar talent was wrongly sent off, then comes back in a massive fixture, in front of the world, and dominated full grown men defensively and scores a brilliant solo goal. The English media line up to call him a villain and to “rein it in” You decide why

Here is a list of attackers who have moved on loan this season: Osimhen Kolo-Muani Felix Tammy Abraham Ferguson Tel Asensio Alvaro Morata* Zaha …Fabio Vieira. Nothing doing there? No-one who could relieve Havertz to close the odd game out? To throw on when we need an extra attacker? *imagine!

Before Xmas, Arteta said he has one of the thinnest squads in the league. That was before the Jesus injury. He said the same thing in the summer (before we let 3 first team attacker leave). It’s really hard to reconcile what he says with what we have done in these transfer windows.

I genuinely wish I didn’t know about the Morata link. That’s pissed me off more than signing no one.

It's great when individuals who work for broadcasting outlets that have shows like 'Ref Watch' and who focus so, so much of their match coverage on refereeing decisions start wondering why there is so much focus on referees and conclude that it is because of Mikel Arteta.

Typically when organizations like PGMOL act the way they act then get their hands slapped they react really maturely and equitably towards the party they wronged. They grow and learn and things move onto a trajectory of improvement. Hahahaha I am kidding they never do that.

Myles Lewis-Skelly’s red card for Arsenal against Wolves sparked rage: there simply must be a better way of doing this Well, obviously we need to talk about that Myles Lewis‑Skelly red card. Shall we have another look at it? Right there, you can see the…

Howard Webb and PGMOL are failing everyone
Good morning folks, wherever you are, I hope you’re well at the start of this new week. The fallout from the Myles Lewis-Skelly red card rumbles on, and I think it’s important to say first and foremost that it shouldn’t. At this point, PMGOL could easily…

“Tiresome talking about referees” says
@23carra.bsky.social
. I agree. What time is Ref Watch on tomorrow ? Mike Dean on soccer Saturday next week? The Howard Webb show? Is Howard back on the otherwise wonderful ‘Stick to Football’ again anytime soon? Tiresome.

The narrative around MLS red card has completely shifted now. I promise you no one will care about it if every challenge is treated equally. But everyone knows that is never going to happen.

I don’t really mind that MLS was shown red for that if they think it was foul play. He’s lunging, studs up on the side of the calf. Fair enough. I want refs to protect players more. Just be consistent. It’s always about consistency. The amount of violent conduct that’s gone unpunished is a joke

I find it hard to believe we would be worse off this year if we had done NONE of our summer business and just kept the squad exactly how it was last year with ESR and Vieira and Nelson and Nketiah. Which is a dark realisation to be coming to tbh

I don’t like to doubt Scott Willis on these matters but I am beginning the think that maybe we aren’t the 2nd best team in the world? However, who am I to argue with a pie chart or excel spreadsheet.

Partey at fullback. No Saliba. A front three of Martinelli, Havertz, and Trossard. Only one senior attacker on the bench. Late stage dictatorship football. The people are only eating meat once a week while the President says that we must all make sacrifices for the good of the country.

Let's not allow the handball discussion to divert too much attention from the fact that Thomas Partey's atrocious defending was to blame for both goals today.

Way too much chat on the TL about the VAR call. It’s very clearly a handball. It’s also not the talking point of the game. The talking point is dropping points from a two goal advantage again this season.
