Michael Prescott's report makes vital points about the importance of being accurate, and also how difficult that is. For instance, he describes himself as having been Political Editor of the Sunday Times for 10 years, which is not what the Guardian reported when he left the job.

This story is NUTS. A southern sheriff celebrated as a folk hero (and memorialized in the Walking Tall movies) almost certainly murdered his wife, faked his own shooting, then blamed it all on an ambush by the "Dixie Mafia" he was investigating. His fans today refuse to believe itâor don't care!

Wife of British journalist âabducted by ICEâ speaks out: âWeâre being kept in the darkâ
Soumaya Hamdi says she has barely spoken to Sami Hamdi since he was taken over his pro-Palestinian advocacy The wife of a British political commentator who was detained by immigration authorities while on a speaking tour of the US said she has only been able to speak with him for â30 secondsâ since he was taken into custody on Sunday over his pro-Palestinian advocacy. Soumaya Hamdi told the Guardian she first learned her husband, Sami Hamdi, was detained at San Francisco international airport when a friend asked her to confirm rumors he had been âabducted by ICEâ.
