When you are reading a well respected poetics book from 30 or so years ago by a poet whose work you admire finding yourself disagreeing with nearly every key point . . . I honestly love these moments of engaged reading.

Just curious, seriously, what's going on great in your poetry communities? Tell me about the readings, workshops, zines, whatever, that you guys are doing that is doing great. I'm really curious to hear about how other places make it work for them.

At a restaurant in a seaside town (Qingdao), the staff are eating from a dish served family style. They left the best portions for the guys stuck in the kitchen. There is hope for humanity.

A sense of line is rarer and rarer in contemporary poetry, and undervalued, and intangible, but it's a key element in differentiating between a poem and flash fiction formatted as a poem.
