Better transportation is incredibly popular, so much so that city after city in the US votes by referendum to tax themselves more for it. We've got former opponents of Congestion Pricing now defending it in Manhattan with all they've got. Let's make it acceptable for politicians to do this too.

I've put together a wider scale map covering the inner suburbs. One of the things immediately evident is the weakness of the Millennium Line compared to the other lines, with its route on a wide suburban boulevard and paralleling a major freeway as well as the forced transfer travel time impact

Last week ABC's Brian Montague engaged in some seriously unprofessional conduct at city council. This is just a clip of a larger series of interruptions. This sorts of bullying shouldn't be tolerated in civic business.

A few of my favourite photos from the first part of my recent trip to Newfoundland: around St. John's and the very Irish Avalon Peninsula. I was fascinated by the area's ties to the sea (as with the rest of NL), the strategic importance of St. John's harbour in WW2, and the similarity to Ireland.

As B.C.’s local governments try to improve transit, they’re told the province doesn’t have enough money to pay its share. That has left local politicians increasingly pointing out that a key plank in the province’s housing strategy is being undermined by a lack of funding for local buses.
