Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home. Our government stands united with the federal government and the Anti-Extortion task force to find these criminals, arrest them, and ensure that they face justice.

Canadians need their governments focused on real projects, not a fantasy pipeline with no investors. BC has billions of dollars in privately led projects that are going to create thousands of jobs and bring prosperity to Canada. We cannot put them at risk.

People across BC deserve an affordable place to call home. While the Conservatives want to reverse the progress we’ve made by putting real estate speculators first, we’re focused on making housing more accessible for families.

Today, we remember women hurt or killed by cowardly violence and stand with survivors and their loved ones. As the 16 Days of Activism begins, we recommit to preventing violence, strengthening supports, and doing the work so every woman in our province feels safe.

Reconciliation strengthens BC’s economy and our communities. We reject racist, anti-indigenous rhetoric — and we’ll continue working in true partnership with First Nations to deliver jobs, certainty and prosperity for all British Columbians.

Cracking down on extortion threats is a big priority for our government. Today I heard directly from business owners on their experiences dealing with this threat. BC’s Extortion Task Force continues to make progress on these investigations. No one should feel unsafe in their home.

British Columbians know our coast and the opportunities it can unlock better than anybody else.   We need to be at table to protect our coast, unlock prosperity and ensure a bright future for all Canadians.

Korean Canadians have enriched the fabric of our society in countless ways. It was great celebrating Korean Heritage Month in the Legislature yesterday.

Three years ago today, I was sworn in as the Premier of this beautiful province. We have important work ahead, and we’ve already achieved so much, causing Canada to Look West for jobs and prosperity. Let’s get big things done!

Look West is our plan to secure hundreds of billions of dollars in investments, make sure British Columbians are first in line for jobs and drive success in key industries.

Every British Columbian deserves the opportunity to succeed. That’s why we’re making the largest investment in trades training. Providing $241 million over three years, we’re going to train the next generation of skilled tradespeople in BC to get big things done.

Let’s be clear about what Alberta is proposing: BC loses billions of dollars of major projects from private investors. AND Canadian taxpayers are forced to pay billions more because there is no interest from a private company. That’s not fair. And fairness is a Canadian value.

The Bishnoi gang has terrorized people in our communities, using violence and extortion. BC was the first to call on Ottawa to list them as a terrorist entity back in June. This move gives authorities powers to freeze and seize the gang’s assets and keep our streets safe.

People deserve to live in safe communities, and people with complex mental health and addiction issues need dignified care close to home. At UBCM, we announced that we are working to open more involuntary care beds across BC, with new sites in Prince George and Surrey.

Congratulations to the new leader of the BC Green Party, Emily Lowan. I look forward to meeting with Ms Lowan and finding common ground to get results for people in BC.

My message at NYC Climate Week: Look to BC! Our clean energy means we can produce the lowest carbon energy products anywhere in the world. While clean tech is chased out of other places, they are welcomed in BC. We are ready to do this work while bringing prosperity to BC and Canada.

Climate Week is in full swing in New York, and we’re meeting with investors from around the world that are interested in projects in BC. That means more jobs for British Columbians and prosperity for all of Canada.
