2026 is the year I get really into Th' Faith Healers. I should have seen this coming, they did morph into the mighty Quickspace a few years later.

Eddie Henderson of Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi band is playing in Bray in May. Might be time to set foot in Wicklow for the first time.

Would have liked to go to the Madra Salach gig last night in Cork after hearing good reviews from a Dublin show. Tried to make do with the EP and the production on it is hideous. Music sounds like it was made to soundtrack 'House Of Guinness'. A shame.

Delighted that I'm going to Supersonic this year so I can't be tempted into going to another poor Eiko Ishibashi & Jim O'Rourke gig in the NCH. The last one went straight into my top five most disappointing gigs of all time.

Writing something about the new edition of The Thing Artbook, and I've finally traced the uncredited artist for the cover of the Bantam novelisation. It's Jim Burns. Rather vague where the film is concerned but it's still the best of the novelisation covers.

Bread and roses, lads. You don't work for permission to exist, you work so you can have a nice life. And Terry Pratchett didn't give us the Boots Theory just so you could not know it.

Looks like Steven Drozd and The Flaming Lips have parted company. That's the end of that, though they really haven't released anything decent since 2013. Not a good look when a founding member in Michael Ivins and your musical genius both leave the band.

I was writing songs anyway (Neil Young thanks for the inspiration) but the lad I sat next to in Leaving Cert. Irish had a band and I knew I could do better than him.

Listening to 'Caribbean Sunset' by John Cale for the first time and holy fuck is it unfairly maligned. Some absolute bangers on here, Cale on top form. I can only imagine the cover art didn't help its cause but what a record.
