We attended Trans Joy Party at the Kentucky Capital Rotunda & it was exactly as advertised. Party hats, smiles, noise makers & epic speakers. Thanks to @acluofky.bsky.social, Fairness Campaign, Louisville Youth Group, & Mandala House for creating & hosting this amazing event.

I didn't have to come out to my mom about being queer or trans because she already knew. She educated herself before I even knew about myself, because she considered it the bare minimum to be a good person. She let me tell her in my own time, but I also knew I *could* tell her.

Today is my youngest’s 31st birthday. Remember when you’re expecting, and you say, “I don’t care about gender, I just hope it’s healthy”? If you really mean that, then you fully support your kid when they transition. I couldn’t love my non-binary trans-masc awesome human any more #trans #lgbtq+ 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

someone asked me recently what it’s like being the parent of a trans kid. I said “it’s like being a parent.”

5. Getting to advocate for trans Kentuckians in spaces where our voices haven’t historically been heard. Trans folks have always been here in Kentucky and we always will be. I will never stop fighting for our community and our home because our community and our home are worth fighting for 💙

Our holiday wish is for all children to have this type of support. Education and visibility is the road to that happening.
