It’s early days, but Iran’s missile attack tonight seems more symbolic than anything else. A form of communication; they even gave advance notice of the incoming missiles. It looks like a face-saving piece of military theatre in response to the US strikes at the weekend.

This is good news here, indeed. But the university sector is struggling through lack of funding, very poor staff/student ratios & road blocks preventing us from growing our staff. We're not quite at the crisis point like in the UK, but it wouldn't take much for us to tip over too.

If the EU does not suspend its trade deal with Israel, then what is the point of having human rights clauses in trade deals with other parts of the world, including Mercosur. Do we think any Mercosur member is likely to kill 50,000 people? Human rights clauses are pointless if never used.
