Flynn also helped found the Workers' Defense Union, which didn't discriminate based on religion or color and existed as a legal advocacy group for workers imprisoned or facing deportation for their political philosophies or labor advocacy. This is a thing the US claims does not happen.

You might know Joe Hill from songs such as "There's Power In a Union." Joe wrote a song for Elizabeth called Rebel Girl. Joe of course was executed by the state despite numerous social and legal efforts for his clemency. Elizabeth even managed to meet with Woodrow Wilson to plea his case.

Mind you, the ACLU famously defends the rights of white supremacists to gather, organize, and rally. But they kicked out one of their founders for being a leftist. That "free speech" we're taught about is decidedly not free, and has ALWAYS favored white supremacy and punished leftists.

In today's History We're Not Taught About, did you know that a woman was one of the main founders of the ACLU? And did you know that the ACLU kicked her out for being communist? She was arrested in New York for promoting socialism. Elizabeth Gurley Flynn was a labor hero and changed the world.
