I learned many years ago that there’s an unwritten rule that you can’t do a Halloween party AFTER Halloween. Even if Halloween is on a Friday like this year, you’d better get your Halloween activities in the weekend before. Come Nov. 1, everyone is costumed out and switching to holiday mode.

Honestly, you can do pretty much whatever you want in screenwriting if it's with intention. Format, structure, tone. Whatever. But the clarity of that intent is key. If you lose that, you lose the reader. #screenwriting

Pacing isn't speed, it's rhythm. Cut scenes before they overstay. Linger where emotion needs breath. Shift gears to keep surprise alive. Word choice is important. Master pacing to control reader's time. 2hrs will feel like 15m. Or fail, and a 5m scene will feel like 30. #scriptsky

Setups aren’t magic. They’re contracts with the audience. Payoffs aren’t twists, they’re outstanding debts you owe to the audience. You're literally paying off the debt. Break either compact, you lose trust. Honor them, you earn applause and satisfaction. Do your scripts pay back every promise?
