there is more resistance during the second trump term than there was in the first term but the difference is that, like vichy france, the upper classes & media are much more eager to collaborate so news is suppressed.

Twentieth-century futurism was largely a project of “don’t worry about the problems of the present. Corporations will build you such a lovely future.” 21st-century futurism has mostly been billionaires and their courtiers whining about the mean environmental movement blocking their cool ideas.

Someone demanding you agree to vote for Newsom is demanding absolution, they feel a building shame and guilt for their complicity in this system but rather than self-reflect or reconsider, they demand the more victimized absolve them by agreeing that there is no alternative to that complicity

i suspect that this promotion of hatred between so called “rural people” and so called “urban people” is similar to generational warfare in that it’s a handy way for Republicans and Democrats to obscure class conflict and white supremacy.

This is our Kyle Rittenhouse, and Chuck Schumer needs to start acting like it. Not sure I can vote for the nominee if this kid doesn't speak at the 2028 DNC.

Gringo Democrats who demand Puerto Rico statehood and quote Wikipedia election results at me call me a loony sore loser or worse when I tell them that statehooders rig elections in Puerto Rico. Meanwhile in Puerto Rican TV, statehooders (and the pro-colony "populares" too) openly admit to it:

seeing discourses today about “left antisemitism” and “left needs to think about AI” and the common thread is that The Left is defined as the childish, wrong, naive, hateful position from the outset. how curious that it’s always framed in that way. almost like progressives & liberals need it be so.

After his Grammys performance, lots of people were up in arms about whether Bad Bunny saying "we're all Americans" was a sign that he was making a nod towards PR statehood (unlikely) or whether he was saying it in a pan-american way. It was clear then what he meant, and it should be even clearer now

there’s something off about this but i can’t quite articulate the reason. my first inclination is that this is more a result of class then anything else. the upper classes, from local gentry to the top 1%, tend toward decadence while the middle class tends toward social conservatism out of fear.

two possibilities: 1) trump doesn’t know that puerto rico doesn’t get to vote in the presidential elections and this is make-work to help “prove” his fraud allegations 2) they are fearful of the rise of Alianza and want to make sure that it will never succeed.

Right, all Bill Kristol has to do to "redeem himself" for much greater crimes is oppose Trump, who he helped create. Meanwhile Rania Khalek can point to decades of activism and advocacy on a huge range of left issues, but this means nothing. See how this works?

And why you ask? Bec the PNPs Political base is eroding and they merely use the Referendums as a political tool to turn out voters. Also any true process of self determination must have input from all status camps yet the PNP refuses to allow Input from any other status camp on referendum design
