Stigmatised patient cohorts are as deserving of your care as any other. Drug addicts. Alcoholics. Smokers. Overweight. Underweight. Homeless. Asylum seekers. Minority ethnic groups. Sex workers. The mentally ill. You must not alter your approach to healthcare because of your own biases.

I’ve also wondered for some time now - if there were a choice in regulators, would the standards/performance of them improve? We just seem stuck with this (rightly) being a statutory requirement, and the optics being that of…well…I won’t say what I’m thinking. May get monitored!
