The fun thing about using a knitting app to keep track of stitch counts on projects is that it also shows the date I started the project. Apparently I've been knitting the skirt I've been working on for almost two years now. As long as I don't forget about it again maybe I'll finish this year lol

Just to pile on here... I worked with food banks for years. Yes, food donations are good but (as Nicole encourages) MONETARY DONATIONS ARE BEST. Food banks stretch $ on food (fill gaps donations miss etc) really well. Moreover, they need money for operating costs like power and staff wages.

Today I overslept then had to crunch sew trim and snaps onto an old Halloween cape. I also hastily calculated and added a half circle capelet to it. Wish I'd had the fabric for more fullness, but it's definitely an improvement. Then we did dress rehearsal and things mostly worked out!

Spent about 10 hours today hand sewing snaps, but now I can happily report that the idea works and was worth it. I'm keeping everything a surprise for the show but after I'll probably post a short video because I really want to show these costumes off

FWIW i’ve switched to @bookshop.org for ebooks and Libro for audio books and with very few exceptions had the exact same experience as Amazon without the greasy aftertaste. Highly recommended.

I agree with this tip. If you are like me and HATE pins then it's worth just hand basting them in place. It's about the same amount of effort as all these pins but you don't have to worry about pulling them out or sewing over them.

I made gluten free pizza again tonight. I fixed the mistakes from last time and it was even better! I don't have a photo because we ate it before I remembered to take one. I hate how after a day of sewing my back is wrecked. Well, to be fair I should say after a day of hunching over the table pinning I'm wrecked. The actual sewing part was pretty negligible and relatively ergonomic. Wild how trying to conserve fabric and use stash scraps leads to so much extra labor.

I should have just made my life easier and fully lined these with the nude mesh, but honestly it's not stretchy enough and I don't have enough of it, so now I get to piece it in 😭. Added fun is that the white velvet needed lining anyway so now I have three slippery layers...
