Update: Good news - My dad is recovering well. He’s definitely not 100%, but Johns Hopkins has done a phenomenal job at helping him get back on his feet. He’s still in the hospital, but he might be home as early as the end of the week. No idea what the future looks like, but we are optimistic.

There was a gap in the press car schedule, but since I am now my family’s hospital shuttle, the press car fleet people were kind enough to let me have a car for the week. I’ve a Ford Maverick Lobo.

My dad was able to identify a GMT400 Tahoe and pictures of Davis, so that’s good. But he was having trouble remembering who was in Steely Dan, which is concerning because he’s seen them in concert like 20 times.

So it turns out that my dad had a stroke. He’s alive, thank God. And he’s ambulatory. But I don’t know what recovery is going to look like. My mom is fortunately very competent with that kind of thing and we have many friends in the medical field.

I'm not a 16 year old Latino kid, so Bad Bunny is mostly a blind spot as far as my music tastes go. But I really appreciated that the halftime show was fun, positive, and set out to spread themes of unity. It wasn't as grimdark as everything else. It said that we all Americans.
