So here's my stupid, probably-already-said, theory about Stranger Things. I think the Upside Down should be like the valley beyond Max's cave. Normal-ish, beautiful landscape. And the Upside Down we see, and everything in it, is ground zero for an interdimensional bomb that extends to the wall.

Not a criticism but it's amazing to think about how many Star Trek stories have, at their core, the idea that some alien/entity/lone survivor is simply bored or lonely & wants someone from Starfleet/the Federation to play with them. Right now not enough shows are about aliens with relatable ennui!
