U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion. Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits. This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

It used to be that the United States would use Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty to transmit truth across the borders of repressive regimes. Now the work of American reporters, having been censored, is being smuggled across the border to reach Americans.

We now learn that Fifa had a very specific "ask" in exchange for its "Peace Award" to Trump, with loads of gold trinkets, and that was dismissal of a criminal corruption case against senior Fifa officials. And Trump granted it. Another corrupt bargain, barely noticed (and ignored by US media).
