I have always thought this. At some point, the income you’re earning is not coming from your work, your effort or even your investment. At a certain point it becomes theft.

The books we read as children shape the readers---& people!---we become. Stop demeaning kidlit. Stop acting like anything meant for children is "lesser." Stop acting like children themselves are "lesser." I am THIS close to screaming incoherently in the face of anyone who does this from now on.

Some of my favorite books are old and obscure, and this means that many of them aren't readily available as audio books. And that's just annoying and rude.

Happy Easter! The Easter Vigil was a bit different this year, thanks to some untimely rain. We began indoors rather than in the memorial garden, but the building didn't catch on fire. The whole service was beautiful, and two people were baptized. It's still my favorite night of the year. 🕯️

One of the most exhausting things about parenting, especially as a single parent, is arranging childcare. I just get so tired of having to find people to watch my son anytime school is out or anytime I just want some time to myself. It's a whole lot of mental and emotional labor.

One of my Lent traditions is to read Robert Farrar Capon's the Supper of the Lamb, and I wasn't going to read it this year. But my mind was changed, and I'm so glad. Every page is so rich. I just need to find other people who have read it because it feels a bit lonely not being able to discuss it. 🕯️

My son asked for a kite for Christmas, and we finally got to fly it today. He's typically a very avid indoors man, so it's making my heart happy that he really had fun with the kite. And I'm thinking kite flying is an extremely underrated activity.
