Sexual assault is a wound that never completely heals. Sometimes you forget it's there and then you are starkly reminded that you live with it, and you will live with it until the day you die. It changes you. It makes you afraid. It hardens you in ways you should not have to be hard.

Thank you for being brave enough to say this - and yes, for articulating the reality that no professor or educator should ever be having romantic relationships with students, because no matter what they tell themselves, the power differentials inherently make actual consensuality nearly impossible.
