For the first films I worked on, right out of highschool, I did makeup fx. I'd done some grisly latex sculpts & a film student saw them at an exhibition & asked if I could do movie gore. I said, sure why not? I'd wanted to make movies my whole life. Couldn't make a living of it, but I had a blast.

Finally caught up with Alien Earth. I am into this. Reminds me of the grisly but cheeky old Dark Horse Aliens comics. Idiot corporations, suspicious synths, expanded lore and bestiary. The Maginot episode is annoying close to a spec script I've outlined though. My crew was a lot more competent.

Have to see this. When I was a kid John Clarke was the voice of Wal from the Footrot Flats movie I watched a kazillion times. I heard his voice when I read the comics too. As I gew up that biting wit and stabby comentary got into me I think, and helped formed a bit of my own sense of humour.
