Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno's bill would end the right to dual citizenship for Americans. If it were to go into law: - 1 Year to renunciate foreign citizenships. - If not, U.S. Citizenship is forfeited. - You become an undocumented immigrant in the eyes of the U.S. This is horrifying.

I was interested in comparing the 1875 Compton and Dry map for St. Louis to the modern Seattle townhome block. What are your thoughts?

It's too late now, but I really wish the public plaza at Grand Street Commons wasn't oriented toward Rainier Avenue. It's a loud and uninviting street. Maybe that can change to some degree...? An interior plaza similar to Midtown Square at Union and 23rd is much more pleasant to spend time in.

I *really* wish Seattle had pictorial maps with this level of detail. There are some more generic ones from 1878, 1884, 1889, 1891, and 1903. But nothing like the 1875 Compton and Dry maps out of St. Louis, an invaluable treasure.

Always crazy to me that St. Louis City, which did not extend west of Jefferson Ave in 1870, had a higher total population than the city does today. Look how dense older American cities were.

Burying the lede here because the Opensky and Buggy both go way harder aesthetically. But, uh… these are $30K for glorified golf carts. At the same time, these things would probably last 40+ years with good maintenance, no problem.

I don’t think the buildout of this block in Beacon Hill is optimal, but I think you can retrofit for greenspace by using adjacent public ROW.

This is one of the most interesting newer homes in the city to me. The house’s footprint is 58’x10’. Because it’s so deep, I feel like it actually works in terms of layout?

Really dislike Seattle Townhomes that absolutely insist on putting a kitchen island in. Theres rarely enough space and the chairs around this are so awkwardly in the way. Scrap the kitchen island. Let a resident put a small dining table where they want.

My impressions: - Goofy to put the poverty line there - Goofy to use national medians - I think this is useful in showing how thinly stretched our middle class is - Average people are really struggling to build wealth now - Dismissing this as privileged is actually Billionaire class rhetoric

Something I’d really love to see around Seattle embedded into neighborhoods is more bike rooms like what we have at some of the light rail stations. As our city becomes more and more for apartment and townhome dwellers, residents don’t often have enough space to securely keep a bike.

I miss going to shows at Joe’s Cafe in St. Louis. One of the cooler venues you’ll ever get to go see live music. It doesn’t really matter who was playing that night.

Give it a watch. Only 2 episodes in but it has been really strong so far.
