Yesterday I signed two ordinances sponsored by CM Lin that eliminate out of date regulatory barriers and speed the permitting process. This will accelerate development timelines by as much as five to twelve months, helping us move more quickly to build the housing and shelter we need.

I am a public school teacher who holds meaningful student loan debt. I know how loans work, but I feel cheated by the federal government for constantly moving the goal posts on what the deal is for paying back my student loans.

Continuing to learn Italian while I wait for citizenship and while I really just enjoy the language, I now also hold the opinion that all public school teachers should be required to learn a second language. It makes a huge difference for how I understand my work to support ELL students.

This is an obvious thing but walking/biking at least some of the time makes you an exponentially better driver because you develop better anticipation for conflict points, respect for right of ways, and empathy for people walking or biking when you’re in a car.
