The raised bed, finally set up and filled with dirt, is in the wrong place - our house is L-shaped and it’s in the corner of the L that gets no direct sun EVER. It’s not DARK but it’s all shade all day. There’s a place 10-12’ out that gets direct sun a decent part of the day. It needs to move.

If you live in a snowy area, check your city website for free ice melt. My city offers free paw-friendly salt, 5lbs per visit, to residents. Pickups for my city are at municipal parks and libraries. There was a bit of a queue today, but it moved quickly because -20.

After the last time I updated my iPhone, I started having a million typos. I found a fix in case anyone else has this problem. In Settings, go to Keyboard and turn off Slide to Type.

Still no soil in the raised bed (at this point I choose to pronounce it with two syllables) - I’ll get to that next weekend - BUT now I have SEEDS: basil, blue butterfly pea vine, and some VERY gothic black tomatoes.

I’m attempting to set up the raised bed. Once I put it out I realized I was putting it on grass so I got out some landscape fabric to line it. While sitting on a little bench and bending over to secure it with staples I fell right on my ass - which put me in a much better position to do it!

I got a 3’ x 1’ raised bed for Christmas and I’m going to start my very first garden. I want to have both pretty and food plants. We’re in zone 10b. I have seeds for heirloom tomatoes and butterfly pea vine. I have basil seeds (left over from my sad indoor experiment they ended up HUGE outdoors).
