If you liked GO3 and are frustrated over other fans’ negative responses to it, well… you can always return to the finale and rewatch the canon scenes you love, right? Those of us who disliked it can’t do that. Canon is no longer a comfort for us. We have nothing.

I guess the thing is Asanthony have absolutely zero connection to the bench, and the bench holds such an emotional meaning to the whole fandom. It's impossible to just 'scroll away' or curate your feed on this one and a lot of people find Asanthony genuinely upsetting.

For those who like #GO3, I’m curious (and I do NOT mean this as a gotcha, I just want to understand): If given the choice between an ending that resolved the plot another way & left the OG Aziraphale/Crowley happy in the South Downs, vs. the canon ending we got… would you still pick the canon one?

I see takes saying “you shouldn’t need a kiss or a love confession to know that they’re in love” but that’s not taking into account that we were already given a kiss and a love confession that were ruined by misunderstanding. We were looking for the characters to be able to correct those.

Aziraphale deserved the chance to initiate an actual kiss. He’s an angel of great appetites that he is constantly shamed for. He starved himself and hid his hunger and yearning for so long, and then never got to feast on his and Crowley’s love.

It’s been 6 weeks since #GO3. I still feel unmoored, bewildered, and angry. (Negative commentary below, coming from a place of hurt 🧵)

It’s so interesting to me to see how differently David Tennant holds his face when he’s Crowley vs. when he’s Professor Anthony. With his facial muscles alone he communicates that this is a different character, and you can see the difference even in still images. Acting!

I don’t care who says they love the finale. DT, MS, the TPE, my favorite fan creators, my best friends. Terry’s ghost could whisper in my ear about how it perfectly matched his intentions. I would still hate that ending. #goodomens3

I want to gently remind my fellow fans that we will likely never know with any certainty what exactly TP wanted for Good Omens. The TPE obviously knew him best & are the best situated to know his wishes, but even his loved ones are not the man himself. As fans of his work we can only speculate.
