The best thing (aesthetically) about the Berkeley Trader Joe’s building isn’t the fake Victorian detailing, which comes off a bit kitschy. It’s the fact that they let a big building be big. No fake breaking up the massing trying make it look like 8 buildings torn apart and reassembled.
