Reminded of one of my favorite bits of FFXII: the Skyferry Aerodromes. You can move between major cities via Skyferry and they have you book a flight, hang out on the deck while in transit and then leave via departure gate after landing. Slower than fast travel but makes you feel part of its world.

Alright, got Terminals and Caches hooked up. Think I'll need a Gab Window to give feedback for what Terminals do (and for Party Banter later). Also put in symbols for Recombinators (not functional yet) and some spooky BGM. Next up is Auto-Closing Doors, Shortcuts, and then finally ... Encounters!

Here's what those Dungeon Floors look like when taken from the design sheet to being whiteboxed (or is it blackboxed in this case?) in RM using MV3D. Next up is adding the logic for Terminals and Shortcuts (also Doors closing behind you when moving in/out of Hazard/Zero-G areas) :D

Alright, that's all three floors mapped out for Hollow Station and some of the planning for encounters, rewards and triggers done. Obviously there will be a lot of changes in implementation but I hope it'll make for a pretty solid 60 - 90 min play experience :D

Got an upper level going as well (this is 2F while the prior map was B1F, still working on 1F). This one features a Zero-G segment similar to an Underwater Dungeons in Experience DRPGs where you kick off from an edge and keep moving until you hit another. Boss Fight and Exit Setpiece at the end too!

SS1 Flight Deck Experience: Who's shooting at me right now? Ope I'm ded Flight Deck contrasts maze-like corridors of prior levels with terrifying open hangar spaces with attacks can come from any direction (even above/below!). Odd choice to have both Dash and Jump Boot upgrades on the same level.

Hey is that-NOPE NOPE NOPE THEY ARE CLOAKING NOW (deliberate lighting choice with the Maintenance corridors alternating patches of light and dark so you spot the Alpha-Strain Mutant still casts a shadow on the floor while cloaked)

SS1 Reactor Experience: AAAAGGGHH IT BURNS!! Reactor is the meanest level so far with Radiation Hazard rooms and tough Robot enemies (those RC bomb cars are a menace!). You leverage Health and Detox Patches for more exploration time. Level comes with a great Medical Room as an aid to lengthen runs.

Light Saber GET! (ok, it's a Laser Rapier which is even cooler)

SS1 Research Level Experience: Sneaking through Jefferies tubes! Cool how much this level taxes resources earned prior. Kept running low on Health Patches. Deliberate choice to limit Cameras and keep the Security Level high until the end. Key Cards matter more than Medical for gating exploration.

In awe of the details of this game. Every TriOp coin is a physics object, so when you convert your junk at the Recyclers, the coins will stack on top of each other as the machine gives them out. It's a minor thing but so damn cool xD

SS1 Medical Level Experience: mostly quiet screaming and running out of ammo :P Love how much the level guides you from area to area but still lets you pick routes. Steady accrual of items/warez slowly gives more control over space. Sick early shortcut to the Recycler that's handy for replayers.

Love how the circuit puzzles have diegetic components: so you are dragging wires around physically, rotating diodes and flipping switches the same way you interact with all other objects.
