An Asda shop was quickly aborted when Simon H-Roberts found a fine Drake Bufflehead at the Foryd Bay, Caernarfon today. 45 minutes later and I was watching this superb Yank duck. Great to see so many friends too making it a nice social occasion. A Welsh (and UK) tick ☺️👍🏴

Utterly grotesque abuse of both the environment and captive-reared birds for sport. The impact these non-native birds have on our native species and countryside is huge inc. carrying avian influenza and predation of endangered species. Time all blood sports were banned in the UK.

Dusky Warbler! This morning's sunny and calm weather provided the perfect window of bird-finding opportunity. So my pre-work visit to Brancaster turned out to be a good call, when I found this little chap 'tuk'ing away in a hedgerow near the Branodunum Roman Fort.
