Almost at the end of my Spain visit as I look at crossing the Pyrenees. 258 bird species noted in 2 months and that's missing 30-50 easily getable. Spain is still the best birding destination in Europe. After a 5 year hiatus, I hope to be back again later this year.

One morning off from rain and the Short-toed Eagles took their chance. I conservatively marked 380 but I'm sure thousands crossed the Strait today. Also, 300 Black Kites, one Alimoche, two Osprey.

I stopped off at Le Teich, near Bordeaux on my ride south. The Night Herons are in the exact same trees as 5 years ago. Both times I've been here have been very wet with intermittent sunshine.

I've visited two local rarities so far this November. Simon's Pied Wheatear at Seaford and the Rose-coloured Starling at St Mags., directly after disembarking at Dover. Unhappily, I missed the Bell Tout Desert Wheatear at one oh my regular patches by two days. ๐ซฅ
