I kept saying I would do all the cleaning and organizing I’ve been putting off once I was on winter break. Turns out I don’t want to do it now either.

Last night I had slush which is apparently a Newfoundland tradition. Myself and the other Newfoundlanders at the party had never heard of it growing up and only know about it from social media. I find it really hard to believe this actually has been a thing for decades.

If I ever owned a store I would have hours where no Christmas music was played so people who are dealing with grief and anything else could shop without the torture the music brings.

This makes me feel so sad. Shelter beds aren’t housing. Neither are hotels. People need actual stable and affordable homes. And we need to prevent people from becoming homeless to make a real dent in these numbers.

I was a coms staffer at PSAC when the Harper government slashed the public service — a miserable time for everyone. All it led to was layoffs, followed by the fed govt hiring more temps and expensive consultants. And then eventually hiring back even more people. It takes humans to run a country 🤷‍♀️
