Anecdotally I can confirm this. I’ve been working in corporate American for about 13 years and 100% yes to this. Lot of them I worked with got either let go or transferred because they were incompetent. Loved having to act as manager because the actual one didn’t know how to just do their damn job.

A great breakdown of how so many of these grand proclamations on AI are either outright wrong, or just written in a way to stoke fear or drive investment by making the tech seem far more (reli)able than it really is. Also I love the "analyslop" term for stuff like this.

Just watched a 2 hour breakdown of Ridley Scott's Napoleon from 2023 and I gotta say, much better viewing than that movie. I had forgotten just how drawn out and weird it was. Really seemed like Scott flat out didn't like Napoleon because he came off like a whiny baby in that movie.
