Saw Fantastic Four today. On the whole, I liked it. I think it captures the FF vibe quite well. They feel like a family, which really is a key thing. Re: that last repost: pretty much all of my worst writing has been because somebody insisted that it be worse. That’s not to say I’ve never made a mistake myself, but ”yeah, this is fucking stupid but that’s the way they want it” is in no way an uncommon scenario.

Terence Stamp, dead at 87. Obviously, he was great as General Zod in Superman II. But he was had a big impact in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. I really liked him in The Limey. Stamp, I think, was one of those actors who had the chops for a much bigger career. He had such a presence.

I would agree that D&D is expensive. But there's a ton of RPGs out there that are cheap or literally free. Oh, I almost forgot: there's a recent Netflix movie, also called The Wages of Fear, also based on Arnaud's book. I haven't seen it; the trailer features assault rifles and fight scenes, and I cannot imagine that watching it would be worth my time, not because I'm a snob but because holy shit, c'mon.

I recently watched The Wages of Fear (1953) and Sorcerer (1977). Both are adaptations of 1950 the novel The Wages of Fear by Georges Arnaud, about desperate men transporting nitroglycerin in trucks over treacherous terrain. To a great extent, they are the same movie... except they really aren't.

On the one hand, I really don't believe in corporal punishment and I think it is an inherently immoral practice. On the other hand, I think anyone who comments "start them on a carnivore diet" on post about how somebody's being ravaged by dementia should be punched fifty times.
