I've been thinking about this indie strategy RPG called Our Adventurer Party that I played a couple years ago. I really enjoyed it, but I remember many comments ragging on the art style and it annoyed me so much. I found the art really charming and genuine, even more now.

One of my favorite games is basically "The struggle and suffer simulator". I literally watched my first character slowly bleed out and die about half an hour into playing it. I cracked 1700 hours this year. I do not mind struggling with something that I genuinely enjoy because the wins are earned.
