The journey in numbers, the first time I've done the one way trip without filling up en route. And despite a very full car, the best ever one way figures. We left on the 26th July. Apologies for the dusty screen.

Passing a primary school en route this morning named after Jules Berry, a famous French actor who was described as "Bombastic, extravagant amd whimsical" and now I want to be this too. Sounds magnificent.

We are in Confolens for their music festival, the temperature had dropped to a very pleasant 37° as the sun has dropped below the buildings and there's a slight breeze. We've been treated to Indian (Rajastan) music and dancing, it's the Mexicans next I think. A fab way to spend a warm evening.

We turned up at L'Esprit for our croissant and coffee to be greeted by the table of regulars, a bunch of retired men and a redoubtable woman who we consider to be "bardotesque". She has taken to giving us a full welcome every morning, making it so much harder to leave this town when we have to.

Spots today. Rare Fiesta Festival is irrésistible. The Super Cinq was minty fresh, the 205sr was stunning, the ZX is underrated.

We've been buying fir Mrs B's vintage store today amd we have bought this. A functioning light meter from the 1950s, complete with case, and metallised chord. I have no real interest in taking photos, but this has to be one of the coolest things I've bought. We'll chuffed.
