Rewatching THE FIFTH ELEMENT for like the 10th or 30th time, who knows. I genuinely consider this movie (Besson's one good film) one of the best science fiction films I've ever seen.

In a single sentence, "We should make society better for the highest number of people as possible, without making it worse for the most vulnerable in the process." I don't need, or want, a single "identity" for my politics, the nuances of which are subject to change based on updated information.

We could have universal healthcare. We could have low-cost and public housing. We could have UBI. We could have free education at all levels. We could have a vibrant and well funded public works system. And we'd still have multibillionaires. There's no excuse for us not having all that other stuff.
