Authoritarianism is boring. My American friends believe that dictatorships are dramatic with public executions and whatnot. Unlike the movies, dictatorships are unexciting. Life goes on: people get groceries and struggle with bills, as usual. Losing agency in your own society is mostly boring.

@npr.org
! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide! It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers. It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!

Again, there is zero cognitive dissonance here. The double standard is intentional. Trying to point out the hypocrisy believing that will cause people to see the error of their ways is pointless. This is simply pretextual purging of perceived enemies.

Reasons for opposing the Safe Routes to School sidewalks in Kenwood Park: Save the trees. There are no pools, shops, or parks. It's too many sidewalks. The utility pole & sewer cap on my property can't be moved. We don't need it. People can walk in the street. Who will water the replacement trees?
