Anyone who follows me knows that I see everything Trump does through the lens of domestic violence. This is no exception. He is an abuser, to the very core of his evil being.

And today a federal judge green lighted the release of this list to the federal government. This is dangerous, and not just for Jews. But I have a message for my fellow Jews who still support Trump. He does not care about our safety. At all. He is using us to destroy this country. Full stop.

218 days until the midterm elections. The work is to keep people safe now while also trying to get the right people elected in November. If everyone commits to doing something, together we can do a lot of things.

Today at No Kings Boston, tabling for the Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence. At every event we ask people to reflect on what community safety looks like to them. A sea of post it notes about equity, empathy, and caring about your neighbors. This is how we keep each other safe.

We can’t make Trumpers into a different kind of human being but we sure can outnumber them. That’s how we do it. When their shrill voices are drowned out in crowds of people who say hell no.

Tiny backpacks for children lost to the careless violence of a mad king whose endless quest for power is only matched by his endless capacity for violence. Those children are also why I march today.

IMO the organizing tables are the most important part of these big events. Media downplays the crowds, a lot of speakers are just there for reelection, and it’s become a bit of a costume show. If you’re going, make sure to hit the tables so you are plugged in to actions beyond today.

I see everything Trump does through the lens of domestic violence. He is a deeply abusive man who has an endless need for power and control. He demands compliance and then punishes those who dare cross him. Oh, and there’s an unhealthy dose of narcissism thrown in too.

Listen, Trump has destroyed lives and families and that is way more important than any physical structure he might ruin. But as a metaphor for his regime of destruction… can someone please put a damn stop to this already???

I cannot say this enough. As a former trauma clinician I can tell you that one of the most traumatic things you can do to a child is to separate them from their parent. And this kind of trauma doesn’t magically go away, even if the family is reunified. My heart shatters to think about it.

Our children deserve something better than a government that thinks their teachers should be robotic and armed.

Holding a lot of sadness today. Too many of our young people gone because of too many damn guns. And too many of our young people traumatized and grieving because of too many damn guns.
