Acknowledging the trauma of another community does not diminish the trauma of yours. And yes, this is for all my fellow Jews pushing back on Mamdani’s video about the Nakba. Stop. The only way we can expect others to see our trauma is if we show up meaningfully for theirs too.

I see folks like Todd Blanche, Mike Johnson and Lindsey Graham on Sunday shows. There's plenty of evidence that they use such platforms to lie constantly. Giving them a megaphone to spread their lies is the opposite of journalism which is about seeking the truth. It's irresponsible & damaging.

Go ahead, ask Mike Johnson what he thinks of the Trump administration’s proposal to let guns be sent through the US mail. Ask him about it going around state laws, like ours here in MA. Push him on whether the mailing of guns is a very dangerous thing. I beg of you.

I don’t think we’ve even begun to process the ways AI is being used to perpetrate violence, or what will happen as AI usage continues to explode. From this to AI fueled sexual violence (deepfake porn and nudification) we have a huge problem on our hands — one that most want to ignore.

Add this to the never ending list of reasons why the GOP should always be called out when they claim to be protecting children. It should not be hard to clearly declare that children (girls) shouldn’t be forced to marry. Or bear a child. Or be shot. It should not.

According to Consumer Affairs, Florida ranks as the worst state for renters with about 2.8 million Floridians struggling with rising housing costs. It’s a real shame that these building projects aren’t for more housing. And it’s a real tell too.

Yesterday we hosted an event at the MA State House bringing community members to talk with legislators about violence prevention budget line items and a gun industry accountability bill. How jarring to end that event to all this news. State government matters greatly. And representation does too.

From the Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence: Earlier this afternoon, a gunman opened fire with a rifle into passing traffic on Memorial Drive in Cambridge. Multiple witnesses described hiding in nearby buildings, jumping from their vehicles and running for their lives. 1/

On 4/30, DHS publicly slammed a judge’s decision to release someone from ICE custody while he was waiting for an immigration court hearing. But ICE had told the RI US attorney’s office “not to confirm or deny” in court proceedings that there was a homicide warrant for him in another country. 🧵

A country where such a thing as Dilley Detention Center can exist but equal representation cannot is an inherently violent and white supremacist country. It is certainly not a democracy.
