MINNEAPOLIS UPDATE: ICE presence is way down compared to the peak of the surge but they’re still out there. They’re still also engaging in what I think is their most loathsome tactic, lurking near schools. Observers are still put in force. Heroes working day and night, even as ICE tactics evolve.

I was in DC recently. All around the train and metro stations were groups of ATF, FBI, DHS, DEA, etc doing absolutely nothing. Aside from the fascist dystopia of armed troops occupying our cities, this is also a complete waste of money. But at least they’re not shooting anyone, I guess. (Yet?)

We’re so new we don’t even have a mailing list yet, so we’re doing community organizing old school.

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

They've now killed four people -- three U.S. citizens and a Mexican national. They've shot several more. They've lied about all of them. They haven't shaded the truth. They haven't "misled" us. They've brazenly, knowingly lied while in possession of the evidence disproving their lies.

The ICE surge in Minnesota cost $280M to detain 4k people. Of those- only 30 were accused of violent crimes. $9 million per capture of the "worst of the worst". Renee Good and Alex Pretti were unavailable for comment….

As long as Trump is in office, ICE and CBP should get no funding through the traditional budget whatsoever. After all, they already have more than they need.
