This morning, NSEA spoke at the Interim Education Committee to deliver one message: Seriously, Pass The Plan #NVLeg Because education funding was effectively kept flat last session, with just a two-dollar per-pupil increase, districts across Nevada are struggling with millions in deficits.

On Capitol Hill today, NSEA met with our federal delegation to defend public education and protect students. We opposed dismantling the Department of Education and raised concerns about ICE and DHS actions impacting our schools. Accountability, civil rights, and student safety must come first.

Sadly, Governor Lombardo is offended that we'd prefer public money to go into public education. His state is ranked 48th in per pupil funding with the largest class sizes in the nation. Education is economic development, and it's a better investment than hollywood movie studios. #NVleg

🚨Endorsement: Educators trust @zconine.bsky.social because he has always defended Nevada’s public schools and the people who make them work. He has been a good steward of public dollars and understands that protecting those dollars is essential to protecting public education.

Retroactive registration cannot fulfill the Legislature’s clear intent: that disclosures occur in real time, so the public can evaluate lobbying influences as they occur, not days, weeks, or months (or in Jeremy Aguero's case, years) after decisions have been made.

After-the-fact compliance does not cure the original violation. The Act requires registration prior to engaging in lobbying, so legislators and the public have transparency at the time influence is being exerted. #NVLeg

Today, we again urged the LCB to follow the law: suspected violations must be reported to both the Attorney General and Legislative Commission. We’re requesting confirmation of when those reports were made to both entities and when the Commission will take it up. #NVLeg
