Today we had the honor of opening up the newly restored Benjamin Cooper Tavern, which has stood in Camden since 1734. I was happy to get federal funds for this project so that it can educate future generations on how South Jersey aided in the fight for independence:

11 years ago today, the Supreme Court confirmed what we already know: that love is love, and nothing can stop it. Even though some folks might want to take us back to a time when marriage was restricted, I'll fight tooth and nail to keep marriage equality the law of the land.

On one hand, Trump refusing to sign a housing affordability bill that passed Congress with rare bipartisan, supermajority margins is a shocking act of disregard for working families. On the other hand, this is the same Trump who repeatedly says "I don't wanna hear about affordability." Stupid!

Today marks four years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade. In that time, we've seen states crack down on reproductive freedom which has led to women being denied life-saving care.

Today is Prime Day: A good reminder that while Amazon workers can ship a package in 4 hours, 4 years have passed since Jeff Bezos and Amazon started abusing the collective bargaining process for thousands of those same workers in Staten Island. We must never forget the incredible sacrifices made by Allied soldiers, sailors, and airmen on the beaches of Normandy 82 years ago today. I've had the privilege of visiting Normandy, and each time I'm reminded of the brave men who stormed those beaches to defeat Nazi tyranny in Europe.

Civilian employees break their backs to get America's servicemembers the resources they need to keep us safe.

Both hospital staff and the servicemembers they cared for suffered badly when the government tried outsourcing healthcare at Walter Reed. Congress stepped in to stop it, but now some lawmakers are trying to go back to the old system. I'm glad @democrats-armedservices.house.gov helped block them:

The reports of escalations at Delaney Hall are disturbing. I'm monitoring the situation and in conversations with my colleagues. It may be tough to get accurate information from ICE, but that won't stop us from conducting the oversight that is our congressional duty.

As a survivor of sepsis myself, I know the toll that this condition can take on victims and their loved ones. I've been praying for Kyle Busch's family. I was encouraged to see sepsis awareness being raised after his passing and hope that information helps save lives from this terrible condition.

When I visited Delaney Hall back in April, what I saw and heard made me sick to my stomach. I felt that same frustration watching ICE's over-the-top response to the protestors, observers, and lawmakers there over the past few days.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the brave men and women in uniform who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. They gave their lives to keep us, our way of life, and our freedoms safe. Today, and everyday, we must honor and remember them.

Congratulations to the Rowan College of South Jersey baseball team as they begin play in this years NJCAA World Series! The Roadrunners were down 17-1 in the regional championship game, but showed that South Jersey grit to come all the way back and win it.

Today in Camden, we recognized the servicemembers from our community who gave their lives to keep America safe.  In these brave men and women no longer with us, we find stories of inspiring service, selfless courage, and hope for a safer world.

On Tuesday, the Senate advanced a War Powers Resolution to rein in Trump's war of choice with Iran. Yesterday the House was supposed to have our own vote, but at the last minute Speaker Johnson pulled it from the schedule and cancelled the rest of the week when it was clear it would pass.

The discharge petition for my Faster Labor Contracts Act just hit 218 signatures, guaranteeing that it will be voted on in the House! For too long, companies have used bad-faith stall tactics to deprive American workers from getting the contracts they deserve.
