Follow-up on this thread, on the social status of Remans during the Romulan Third Republic: The common description of the Remans is that of a slave caste. While this is not wrong per se, it hides a more complex reality. The status of its Reman population has shifted through Romulan history.

The slow approach of the USS Enterprise-D towards the camera in #StarTrekTNG's "Galaxy's Child"⬅️ was originally filmed for and first appeared in the pilot episode "Encounter at Farpoint"➡️. Notice how the shot lasts a bit longer in the former episode and the camera gets even closer to the hull.
