In the very first #StarTrekScouts episode "Asteroid Blasters #3"↖️↙️↘️, Roo is seen using a tricorder with a purple stripe. This is a nice callback to the purple-stripe tricorders established in #StarTrekLowerDecks' "Envoys"↗️. 😄

#StarTrekTNG's "Journey's End" is the final of three #StarTrekTNG episodes that features the stars in the ready room window moving from left to right instead of right to left, which apparently was decided to be the "correct" movement in the middle of season 2's "Pen Pals".

Good fighting evil in #StarTrekDS9's "The Reckoning"⬇️ and #StarTrekSNW's "New Life and New Civilizations"⬆️.

Listen, I do know that there is no up and down in space. Nonetheless, I found the unusual, long shots of the Enterprise in #StarTrekSNW's "New Life and New Civilizations" soaring through space with it's nacelles below the engineering section at the same time fascinating and unnerving. 😅

My take on why the same footage of Beverly entering engineering was used twice in #StarTrekTNG's "Remember Me"? I think it was either forgotten to film her second entrance (which, according to the script, originally would have featured Beverly saying "Nooooo... !", using a wide engineering shot 1/2

I listened to the latest episode ("Do Your Worst") of #StarTrekKHAN earlier today. I love how the last two episodes ("Scheherazade") nicely set up two important aspects of Ceti Alpha V lore. There's foreshadowing and things start to slowly get to Khan. Can't wait how this exciting story unfolds!

This shot in #StarTrekTNG's "Genesis" is very dark (and the lights later mysteriously come on slowly without anyone verbally saying so) but it features another shot of the ready room window stars, seen through the open ready room door. Neanderthal-Riker is hiding out of frame on the left! ;-)

When I covered #StarTrekTNG's "Remember Me" 1 1/2 years ago, I talked about the usage of the same footage of Beverly entering engineering and calling Wesley's name, twice in the episode. Thanks to my friends at @trekcore.com, I can now futher illustrate this with actual video footage! 🧵 1/6

Season 3 of #StarTrekSNW (here: "New Life and New Civilizations"⬇️) gave us something that was impossible on the original #StarTrekTOS ("The Enemy Within"⬆️): one continuous shot of the Enterprise orbiting a planet (Skygowan). Three separate shots had to be used for this on #TOS (Alfa 177).

There's a Danube-class runabout (with rollbar) model/toy seen next to JR's Captain's chair in #StarTrekScouts. I first noticed it in "Asteroid Blasters #3"↖️↗️ but it has been there since the first episode ↙️. On #StarTrekDS9, the first runabout with a rollbar was the USS Ganges in "Past Prologue"↘️.

In future Pike's home in #StarTrekSNW's "New Life and New Civilizations"⬅️, there's a bottle of brown kanar in its trademark bottle. It's the same rare brown kanar variety that only appeared in #StarTrekDS9's "Way of the Warrior"➡️ (instead of the much more common black variety). 👌

I'll be coming back to this scene in #StarTrekTNG's "Remember Me" a little later today. Or should I say "these" and "scenes"? WESLEY!! 😊

I don't know what is reflecting in the ready room window in #StarTrekTNG's "Masks". It seems out of place to me, so I'm posting about it here as part of my slowly ending series on the many creative uses of the ready room window.

In #StarTrekSNW's "New Worlds and New Civilizations"⬆️, we find out that the J-class starship / training vessel,on which Pike sustains heavy, life-changing injuries, and which was first introduced all the way back in #StarTrekTOS' "The Menagerie I"⬇️ is called "Lucas".

#StarTrekTNG's "The Nth Degree" features several newly filmed shots showing to the aft of the saucer section and the neck of the 4-foot model of the USS Enterprise-D ↖️↖️⬅️➡️. I've also included some shots from a similar angle of the 6-foot model from the opening credits ↙️↘️.

The first time Spock addresses Kirk as "Jim" in #StarTrekSNW's "New Worlds and New Civilizations"↖️↗️, the first and last time on #StarTrekTOS ("Where No Man Has Gone Before"⬅️, "The Empath"➡️) and the first and last time in the TOS films ("Star Trek: The Motion Picture"↙️, "Star Trek VI" ↘️).

The ready room display screen about Skygowan and the city of Kali-Katchna, as seen in #StarTrekSNW's "New Life and New Civilizations", features some cool facts about the planet and city, inclusing what type of life-forms (sentient and non-sentient) inhabit the city.

Always look at the background for some fun discoveries in #StarTrek episodes. On the left side of the screen, notice this extra in #StarTrekTNG's "We'll Always Have Paris", caught on camera, waiting for a sign to start walking, nodding and then passing Picard. 😅 Big thanks again to @trekcore.com!

I love that there are not only white but also blue and red stars on the starfield seen on Pike's large wall display screen in #StarTrekSNW's "Four-and-a-Half-Vulcans"⬆️. This reminds me of the starfield in early #StarTrekTOS, like here in "Where No Man Has Gone Before"⬇️.

Watching "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" which is a very healing and calming movie to me, especially after this week. I remember first watching the rec deck scene on VHS in the mid 90s, trying to find and identify all the cool aliens in these shots. :-)

Picard looks out his ready room window shortly before he has the sad duty to inform the crew about Sito Jaxa's death in #StarTrekTNG's "Lower Decks". This is definitely one of the most powerful ready room window moments as Picard has to face this tough situation all alone.

One frame later and the USS Enterprise goes to warp in this shot from the#StarTrekSNW season 3 finale "New Life and New Civilizations".

Notice how the alien writing at the top of the portal on the floating Skygowan temple in #StarTrekSNW's "New Life and New Civlizations" looks more like fighting, agonizing humans than an actual language - very much befitting the epic fight between good and evil.

Picard looks out the ready room window right after Beverly has left the ship for good to stay with Ronin on the Caldos Colony in #StarTrekTNG's "Sub Rosa". Picard's reflection can be seen in the window but no stars are seen, reflecting the mood of this situation.

Here's a comparison of Scotty in his dress uniform in #StarTrekTOS' "The Savage Curtain"⬆️ and in #StarTrekSNW's "New Worlds and New Civilizations"⬅️➡️. I like how faithfully this was recreated!

#StarTrekTNG's "Gambit I" is another late TNG episode in which the stars seen through the ready room window move from left to right instead of the usual (since season 2's "Pen Pals") right to left. Riker really seems to like doing stuff differently from Picard...but flying the ship backwards? ;-)

In the floating temple on Skygowan in #StarTrekSNW's "New Life and New Civilizations", there are some steps that seem to be heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright's textile block tiles, most famously used on the Los Angeles landmark "Ennis House" (2nd pic). 🧵 1/3

Here are the only two items in Pike's future house in #StarTrekSNW's "New Worlds and New Civilizations" that show the 23rd century setting: Two of Juliet's drawings feature the USS Enterprise and what looks like a spacestation or starship in orbit of a planet.

In #StarTrekTNG's "Gambit I", right after Troi has told Riker that he doesn't have the monopoly on loss, he goes to the ready room, holds Picard's crystal and briefly pauses in front of the ready room window, just when Picard (who is presumed dead) does when he is facing a tough situation.

I used Google Translate to translate the left Swaheli text seen on the entryway on the floating Cali-Katchna temple in #StarTrekSNW's "New Worlds and New Civilizations". Very ominous indeed!

Here's a comparison of Captain Pike's house in the #StarTrekSNW pilot episode "Strange New Worlds"⬆️ and in the season 3 finale "New Life and New Civilizations"⬇️. The filming location must have been modified in the years between the two episodes.

Since #StarTrekTNG season 2's "Pen Pals", the stars seen through the ready room window have consistently moved from the right to the left. But in season 6's "The Chase" (and a couple of season 7 episodes), the stars are suddenly moving from left to right again.

It's funny how 90% of the comments on the two #DoctorWho references in #StarTrekSNW ("The Sehlat Who..."⬆️ and especially "New Life..."⬇️) are either "Of course, you doofus, this is a clear Doctor Who reference" or "Nonono, she obviously talks about some other #StarTrek doctor (...or Doc Brown)!" 😜

I never wrote about this cool shot of the USS Enterprise in orbit of Krulmuth-B in #StarTrekSNW's "Those Old Scientists". As it appears again at the beginning of the "last time on..." segment in "New Life and New Civilizations", I can finally mention this beautiful shot here. :-)

I like how this ready room shot in #StarTrekTNG's "Chain of Command I" is set up. Captain Jellico receives the bad news that there is no new information about the whereabouts of the away team on Celtris III, he fears the worst. This is echoed by the fact that no stars are seen outside the window.
