I actually think post show discussion shows (like the ones that Talking Dead one they used to have) funded by the shows themselves have helped make people dumber. The reason the JohnLock Conspiracy happened was that show encouraged viewers to make outlandish deductions from ridiculously small clues and the show would genuinely troll the audience and have fake outs and even non-canon episodes. Stranger Things never did that so this is even funnier tbh.
