What I love about tinkering with old computers is when you open them up you never know what you'll find. This ZX81 must have been a kit build. There's no way they would have fitted components in the factory like this!

So far I’ve managed to avoid this issue with my TL866ii+ but there may come a day when I need to program an older EPROM. Why is this an issue? Lee explains it all in this video.

Using tape heads for transmission is fraught with issues so I'm going to do some experiments with coils. I'll start by with a bt401 Bluetooth module on usb power, then tweak volumes and distances. If this works as well as I hope, I have some more complex builds in mind. Rabbit hole alert.. 🙂

i've added support for more RAM chips to the Pico DRAM Tester! 4027 (4K x 1) 4108 (8K x 1 that are 4116s with only half test good: MK4108, TMS4108, etc) 4132 (32K x 1 that are 4164s with only half tested good: TMS4532, M3732) there are also bug fixes. github.com/schlae/pico-...
