Just got an e-mail from CBMSTUFF.COM to say my Blingboard 64 kit has shipped. I would have got it earlier, if I hadn't missed the e-mail from two weeks ago like a pillock. I did create some new visualisations this campaign, right at the beginning, but I don't think Jim ever used them.

Re-reading 64 Nightmares by the brilliant @merman1974.bsky.social, now that I have a physical copy (thanks Andrew!) Double Dragon is a notable stinker, because it was my favourite arcade game. Its release marked the first time I felt disadvantaged owning a C64, and the need to upgrade my computer.

The ghosts of the "The64 Handlheld" from 2016 that never was (despite many Indiegogo'ers funding it), and the Vega+ that shouldn't have been. Cute, but widescreen aspect and laggy as heck? Nah.

Commodore announced the C64C Ultimate earlier today, so I went and ordered a Starlight Edition. The transparent 'C' case is the only one I don't have, so it had to be done. For the record, these are *not* my renders this time. Whoever made them (presumably Cem Tezcan) has done a fantastic job.

Working on this absolute beauty today. Time warp condition, not a hint of yellowing anywhere. Owner says it works but is unreliable, intermittent black screen. I'm thinking it'll be the power switch or a bad cap.

I post a lot about replacement SID chips, but something very special arrived today. This is the as-yet unreleased SIDemu, to which the creator was kind enough to grant me early access. I love ARMSID and SIDKick, but everything about this thing feels next-level.

The latest SIDKick Pico revision is so beautifully simple. No level shifters, no external flash, just a microcontroller and a few passives. Hard to believe that these two devices, built only year or so apart, do exactly the same thing.
