Time for another of my RetroFest 2025 exhibits. Here we have the fantastic COMX 35, in all its gold and black loveliness. A 1983 powerhouse with 35Kb ram and an RCA 1802 CPU. Awful hard plastic keys with an even worse built in joystick. You want to hate it.. but just look at it!

Right, time for another RetroFest exhibit.. here is my vTech Laser 300. Just as much cardboard and hot glue as all the other vTech's! A 1985 Z80 machine with 16k ram, and the 6847 graphics chip 💚

Time for another RetroFest exhibit! Do I need to introduce this Legend?! My Commodore SX-64. What an awesome machine! The world's first colour portable computer! 1983, 6510, SID, 64k in a handy portable 11kg (23lb) package. I'm recovering from backache atm.. I wonder why??!

Time for the next exhibit from RetroFest. Here we have quite possibly the worst keyboard of all time! My Casio PV-2000. Absolutely no feedback from this completely flat membrane, but I love it. A 1983 Z80 based 'beast' with 4k of ram and a terrible version of BASIC. Fantastic 😎

Time for my next RetroFest exhibit. Just look at this gorgeous machine!😍Here we have my lovely Matra Alice 90. A 1984 machine with 32k ram and a 6803 CPU. The EF9345 video chip gave the ability to feed in video,and place graphics over the top! Why do all red machines look cool?

Time for another RetroFest exhibit. This time we look at my Bandai RX-78. A 1983 machine with 30K ram and a Z80 running at a blistering 4.1MHz. A definite oddball, with a gorgeous design. Cassette ports were an afterthought, and added to the BASIC cartridge!

Big heads up to the team at Retrofest 2025 at Steam in Swindon last weekend. Amazing show of old computing and electronics. Next year is going to be epic! This is me with my rather simple setup playing Quake on Dual 3Dfx Voodoo 2.

My asteroids themed display at Retrofest 2025, pleased and relieved all the machines behaved themselves all weekend - especially the arcade cab as that’d been in bits just before the event!

Had loads of fun at #RetroFest running at the STEAM Museum in Swindon with Swindon Museum if Computing. Was wowing people with a Chinese Famicom Clone & a BBC Micro and there was some great stuff such as running Ceefax, console mods, a dial up internet system, and more. Will be back for more Sunday.

Day 2 ! Going to be another busy one at RetroFest in Swindon :)

Today I travelled to see friends and went to RetroFest. Loved seeing all the kit and restored items. Wasn't keen on the general behaviour of "oh its a girl, we will talk to the men as she can't be technical" ... a vibe I really wish I wasn't used to!

RetroFest has an 80s bedroom with a choice of computers to pose with. Our volunteers have chosen their favourite computer. Do you agree or would you have chosen differently from the table. #retro #computer #festival

Had a brilliant time at #retrofest today. Didn't spent too much thankfully, but have added a few things to my wish list... But did spend a lot of time finding out about some really, really obscure, and fascinating, technology!

The Museum of Computing would like to thank @shortcircuit.org.uk for organising the amazing RetroFest event in our home town of Swindon. It was a pleasure to collaborate with them and we met so many wonderful visitors and exhibitors. We look forward to supporting next year's event!

Great time at Retrofest 2025 at the STEAM museum in Swindon UK this weekend. Surprisingly our trains-being-driven-by-old-computers setup kept going OK, so the Replacement Bus driver spent most of the time relaxing in a little hut :-)

Amazing day yesterday at #Retrofest meeting lots of lovely people from here. 2 highlights for me were the P500 from @binarydinosaurs.co.uk and the Max from ‪@asobitech.com‬ . 2 rare Commodore machines that were great to see working!

Haven't had much of a moment to think since the amazing RetroFest weekend... photos will come up soon. Had an absolute blast as ever, and of course it's the community that makes it. Great people.
