We have plenty of research about what happens to people who see awful things over and over. It's never people becoming more useful and stronger. You know what has happened because it has been so thoroughly reported and covered by people who you know are telling the truth.

To be absolutely clear here: if you already believe what has been described and know what has happened, you should not run around watching video footage of violence. If you are already willing to take action and do something, exposure to traumatising material only reduces your capacity.
