There will be many lessons to take from the tragedy at Brown. One is this: spreading baseless theories and false accusations online causes real harm. Innocent young people have had their lives upended by reckless online speculation. It is damaging, and it must stop.

Something I do want to point out is they used city RIPTA buses to transport students safely out of the area. A bus system that many people in our city government have been trying to gut. Buses are a public good that need to be protected.

Day 16 - Cell Nearest Hill in Rhode Island The Ocean State is pretty flat, at least to someone who has lived in Appalachia for most of his life. The highest point is 244 ft. I sampled the elevation from a DEM & I mapped the nearest "hill" for anyone looking for a potential view.

Just learned that former Rhode Island Transit Riders co-director Patricia Raub has passed away. She was also heavily in the Friends of the Wanskuck Library group. I enjoyed every opportunity to work with her, and her loss will be felt heavily around here.
