I wish I hadn't watched that video. I never watched the killing of Renee Good and hope I never have to. I don't need to see it to fight it. Today at least four federal agents were beating a man and then one of them (I think) shot him point blank while he was on the ground. More agents present.

Another murder, a public execution on the street of an occupied city. We'd recognize it as that in Iran or Myanmar, or in occupied France or Poland in World War II. Every death adds to the moral imperative to resist and end this, and to demand that an opposition party and elites meet this moment.

One argument I used to make to my students about why it was important to learn history (and historical thinking) is that someone was always going to be trying to tell you things were natural or had always been this way and that you needed to be able to see that as an exercise of power.

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone - tech is now more expensive - you cannot trust most media of reality anymore - programs barely function - energy prices - literal psychosis - your voice can be literally stolen for evil - more spyware but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.
