The constant stream of layoffs in the games industry has calamitous effects that extend well beyond people being out of work; they extend beyond the loss of institutional knowledge; these layoffs will drive away talent from the industry while also discouraging new talent from pursuing the field.

From a game I found on Steam: Being a "SMALL INDEPENDENT TEAM" should not be an excuse we accept when it comes to using AI in game development. I would much rather see people open MS Paint and draw doodles there than see awful AI generated mascots shoved down my throat.

Hell yeah 30% is too high. Maybe it's not too high for a giant AAA game who actually has their game get shown to players. But to us indie game devs, you put your game on Steam, have to direct all the traffic there yourself, and then Steam says you're welcome and takes 30% of your money.
