The FCC is waiving a rule that bars a single company from owning TV stations reaching more than 39% of U.S. households. Nexstar and Tegna combined would cover ~60%. Reminder that Nexstar's CEO has praised Trump and quickly pulled Jimmy Kimmel off its stations last fall. See how this works?

A lot of people have criticized Trumpβs rudeness. But what strikes me is that he is comparing his attack on Iran to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which expanded Japanβs war of aggression against its neighbors. Interesting and telling comparison.

Do you remember war in the TV age? CNN reporting from Baghdad, embedded with the enemy, showing the bombardment of the city, live? Later, in the Iraq War, journalists with cameras embedded with the front line troops. We're not getting any of that now, are we? This war is not happening on television.
