Seattle teachers and grocery workers would surely agree with the teachers in Queens. Did you know the WA state legislature *lowed* estate taxes on *billionaires* (and other very rich people) this year? It's time we get serious about taxing the rich.

My cousin worked in Starbucks main roastery in Seattle for 30 years. One day a few months ago he showed up for work and there was just a sign on the door saying that the roastery was permanently closed and they were all out of a job. Starbucks sucks so much ass.

According to a presentation by SSHD staff, the developer will make a net annual revenue of $2 million, even after accounting for the aforementioned rent reductions and freezes. This will finance $60 million in bonds, allowing the agency to immediately cycle capital and invest in more buildings.

Wheeee we won the straw poll! Best part is: the 43rd Dems’ fundraiser was a super fun & warm (figuratively & literally 🥵 — it was hot in there!) community building opportunity to talk to our neighbors & other candidates about our vision for an affordable future. Thanks to everyone who came thru! 🧡

on Tuesday at Elliott Bay Books! It’s the book I’ve wanted for a long time (we need an energy transition — but we should fight to prevent the worst of fossil capitalism from finding its way into a low/no carbon future — Thea’s book guides the way!)

Mamdani has demonstrated something that Democrats have largely forgotten. You can't just do good things for voters and expect to be rewarded for it. You have to tell them about it, over and over again. You have to advertise your work in office just as much as you did on the campaign to win it.
